Here we’ll touch on how to adjust your audio and video settings in zoom.

Settings overview

The Audio and video settings for Zoom can be found in the meeting windows lower tool bar:

Simply click on either of the icons will “mute” the current device, (stop audio, or stop video).

Audio

To access the audio settings, click the expansion arrow next to the microphone. The most important option in this menu is the test speaker and microphone utility. This is the easy way to get your audio and mic settings adjusted properly before a meeting.

Just click the Test speakers and microphone from the list to launch the utility:

If the tone is played through your preferred audio device click Yes, if not, click no. Clicking no will cause zoom to cycle through all available audio devices one by one until the correct one is found.

Same for the microphone test, (choose yes if it picks up and repeats your test, press no to cycle through each device)

Video

To access the video settings click the expansion menu next to the video button:

The Video setting menu is very straight forward. The useful tool here is the camera selection, which allows you to choose the web cam you’d like to use for a meeting.
